How RJ Records handles copyright complaints, infringement notices, Content ID claims, rights disputes and takedown requests.

Effective: September 11, 2026Last updated: September 11, 2026

RJ Records Media Pvt. Ltd. (“RJ Records”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects the intellectual-property rights of artists, labels, rights holders and other copyright owners.

RJ Records operates as a digital music distribution, monetization and rights-management service and may distribute Content to third-party digital service providers (“DSPs”), streaming services, video platforms, social-media services, UGC platforms and other digital services.

This Copyright / DMCA Policy explains how RJ Records handles copyright complaints, infringement notices, Content ID claims, rights disputes and takedown requests.

1Copyright Ownership

RJ Records does not claim ownership of Content submitted by artists, labels or other authorized rights holders merely because such Content is distributed through the RJ Records Platform.

The submitting User remains responsible for owning or controlling all copyrights, master rights, publishing rights, mechanical rights, neighboring rights and other permissions necessary for the distribution and monetization of the Content.

Under the RJ Records Distribution Agreement, the User represents that they have the legal authority and necessary rights to distribute submitted Content.

2Prohibited Copyright Infringement

Users must not submit or distribute Content that:

  • infringes another person’s copyright or intellectual-property rights;
  • is unauthorized or unlawfully copied;
  • contains samples, recordings, compositions or performances without the required permission;
  • is subject to conflicting exclusive distribution rights;
  • contains false ownership or copyright information; or
  • otherwise violates applicable copyright law or platform policies.

Users are responsible for obtaining all required permissions, licences, clearances and contributor approvals before submitting Content.

3Copyright Complaint / Takedown Notice

A copyright owner or authorized representative who believes that Content distributed through RJ Records infringes their rights may submit a written copyright complaint or takedown request.

A notice should contain sufficient information to allow RJ Records to identify the allegedly infringing Content and evaluate the complaint. Where applicable, include:

Rights Holder Information

  • Full legal name
  • Company or organization name, if applicable
  • Email address
  • Telephone number
  • Physical address

Identification of the Copyrighted Work

A description of the original copyrighted work or works allegedly infringed.

Identification of the Allegedly Infringing Content

  • Artist name
  • Label name
  • Track or release title
  • ISRC, UPC/EAN or other identifier
  • RJ Records release or account information, where available
  • URLs or platform links to the allegedly infringing Content

Required Statements and Signature

The complainant should state that they are the copyright owner or are authorized to act for the owner; state a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or applicable law; confirm the information is accurate and make any declaration required under penalty of perjury; and provide the physical or electronic signature of the owner or authorized representative.

4Where to Send a Copyright Notice

Copyright and takedown notices should be submitted to:

RJ Records Copyright Department
Email: [email protected]
Subject: Copyright Infringement Notice / DMCA Takedown Request

5Review of Complaints

After receiving a sufficiently detailed complaint, RJ Records may review the information provided and take appropriate action.

Depending on the circumstances, RJ Records may:

  • request additional information or documentation;
  • contact the affected User;
  • temporarily suspend or restrict the Content;
  • request removal from relevant DSPs or platforms;
  • disable monetization;
  • place or maintain a copyright claim;
  • refer the matter to the relevant platform; or
  • take other commercially reasonable steps.

Your existing Distribution Agreement already allows RJ Records to temporarily suspend, restrict or remove affected Content following a copyright complaint or ownership dispute.

6Emergency Removal

RJ Records may remove, suspend or restrict Content without prior notice where RJ Records reasonably believes that the Content presents an immediate legal, copyright, fraud, regulatory or platform-policy risk.

Where appropriate, the affected User may be given an opportunity to respond or provide supporting documentation.

7Counter-Notice / Dispute

A User whose Content has been removed or restricted because of a copyright complaint may submit a written dispute or counter-notice where legally applicable.

The response should include:

  • identification of the affected Content;
  • explanation of the User’s rights or authorization;
  • supporting ownership or licensing documents;
  • contact information; and
  • any other information reasonably required by RJ Records.

RJ Records may review the response and request additional evidence. Where the dispute concerns a third-party DSP or platform, RJ Records may refer the matter to that platform’s own copyright-dispute procedure.

8Supporting Documents

Depending on the nature of the dispute, RJ Records may request documents such as:

  • copyright registration records;
  • signed licence agreements;
  • master ownership agreements;
  • publishing agreements;
  • artist or label agreements;
  • producer agreements;
  • sample clearances;
  • synchronization licences;
  • distribution agreements;
  • authorization letters;
  • identification documents; or
  • other evidence reasonably necessary to establish rights.

9False or Fraudulent Claims

A person who knowingly submits a false, fraudulent or materially misleading copyright complaint may be subject to legal consequences.

RJ Records may restrict or terminate accounts associated with repeated abusive or fraudulent complaints or submissions.

10Content ID and UGC Claims

RJ Records may use Content ID, fingerprinting and other rights-management technologies for eligible Content.

RJ Records may identify uses of Content on UGC platforms, place copyright claims, monetize eligible uses, block unauthorized uses, release claims and administer rights disputes.

These rights-management activities may be performed through third-party platforms and are subject to their respective policies and technical processes.

11Ownership Disputes Between Users

Where two or more parties claim ownership or distribution rights to the same Content, RJ Records may temporarily suspend distribution or monetization of the affected Content until sufficient evidence is provided or the dispute is resolved.

RJ Records is not responsible for determining complex ownership disputes between third parties and may require the parties to resolve the dispute directly or through an appropriate legal or judicial process.

12Mechanical, Publishing and Other Rights

The User is responsible for ensuring that all applicable mechanical, publishing, synchronization, neighboring and other rights have been properly cleared before distribution, unless RJ Records has expressly agreed in writing to administer those rights.

Your existing agreement places this responsibility on the Label unless RJ Records has expressly agreed otherwise.

13Repeat Infringement

RJ Records may suspend or terminate accounts of Users who repeatedly submit Content that infringes third-party rights or repeatedly violate copyright policies.

Repeated infringement may also result in the removal of Content, withholding or adjustment of affected revenues, and termination of distribution services.

14Royalties During Copyright Disputes

Where Content or revenue is subject to a legitimate copyright dispute, claim, investigation, platform hold or rights conflict, RJ Records may temporarily hold or suspend payment of affected royalties until the matter is resolved.

If a platform subsequently reverses or adjusts revenue, RJ Records may make corresponding royalty adjustments or clawbacks.

15Third-Party Platform Policies

RJ Records distributes Content through third-party DSPs, streaming services, video platforms, social-media platforms and other services.

Those platforms may independently determine whether Content is accepted, blocked, removed, monetized or restored.

RJ Records cannot guarantee the outcome of a third-party platform’s copyright review or dispute process.

16No Guarantee of Immediate Removal

RJ Records will process valid takedown requests within a commercially reasonable timeframe.

However, actual removal may take additional time because each DSP or platform has its own technical and operational procedures.

Your existing agreement already states that actual removal timing depends on the relevant DSP or platform.

17Cooperation

Users agree to cooperate with RJ Records in connection with copyright investigations, ownership disputes, platform requests and legal compliance.

Failure to provide reasonably requested evidence may result in continued restriction or removal of the affected Content.

18Reservation of Rights

RJ Records reserves the right to take any action reasonably necessary to protect its platform, users, distribution partners and third parties from copyright infringement, fraud, abuse or legal risk, subject to applicable law.

19Changes to This Policy

RJ Records may update this Copyright / DMCA Policy from time to time.

The updated version will be published on the RJ Records website with a revised “Last Updated” date.
